Keeley Gets Feely! Welcome To ‘Ted Lasso’s Sexiest Scene Yet

If you thought the sexiest scene in the latest episode of Ted Lasso might have something to do with Jamie Tartt’s time on the Love Island-esque Lust Conquers All (would watch), think again! Instead, it came from another (with all due) wanker on the show.

When Roy (Brett Goldstein) comes home from a long day of coaching 9-year-olds, he treats himself to a beverage and walks in on girlfriend Keeley (Juno Temple) treating herself in her own way. We see her hand moving under the covers as she stares at her phone and does the human equivalent of a cat softly purring, and Roy takes a moment to just watch before letting his presence be known. Keeley throws her phone in surprise, and as Roy walks across the room to pick it up, sweetly asks, “Were you having a wank?” then asking her to show him what she was watching. Keeley hesitates, but Roy assures her, “Babe, come on. Don’t be embarrassed, whatever it is is it’s fine.” He even goes on to reveal, “I like watching couples have sex in the woods, because I could never be that free.”

“I should know what gets you going,” he tells her, and she hands over her phone to show him what got her in the mood.

It’s the press conference where Roy announced his retirement from football through tears and a clenched jaw.

“The fuck? This is your kink, me being pathetic?” he asks.

“You’re not being pathetic, you’re being passionate and vulnerable and it’s fucking hot,” she confirms, and once again asks him to consider the pundit job commenting on football games on TV. Mostly because she knows he will love it, but also so that she doesn’t have to “sit here wanking to videos of you crying.”

Roy wisely takes her advice, is of course brilliant on the show and a hit on social media, and finds himself in a very generous mood. When he gets home, he pulls up his press conference video on her phone and puts her Airpods into her ears, which should be everyone’s new kink, really. How is that so romantic and hot? Is it because sometimes it’s so damn hard to put in your own Airpods that when a man can help someone else put theirs in, it feels extra special?

Anyway, the real treat is that he tells her, “You helped me to help myself, again. So I wanted to thank you properly. Hit play,” he instructs her, before his head disappears down below. He’s here, he’s there, he’s every-fucking-where, indeed.

It was slightly surprising that Ted Lasso made the move to get this raunchy, but it was in no way surprising that the show did it completely right. This scene likely raised a few eyebrows but in all the right ways. There’s something to be said for showing a woman, in a committed relationship no less, passing the time by pleasuring herself. It’s nice and normal! And how healthy it is to see a couple communicating about what turns them on! To see such reciprocation of love! This episode is as sexy as the Apple TV+ series has gotten so far, but it’s also romantic and powerful without ever being pervy. And Keeley is of course right: there is nothing hotter than a man being passionate and vulnerable and feeling his feelings.

Though it should be stated, Roy Kent is a universal kink.
