Billie Eilish Lives Out Her “Fantasies About L.A.” in Disney+ Concert Film ‘Happier Than Ever’

Bow down to Billie Eilish! Disney just unveiled the first trailer for the Grammy Award-winning singer’s concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles, which arrives on Disney+ on September 3.

Directed by Robert Rodriguez and Academy Award-winner Patrick Osborne, the “cinematic concert experience” will follow Eilish as she performs every song from her new album of the same name — in order, for the first and only time — at the iconic Hollywood Bowl.

The trailer intercuts concert footage with an animated version of Eilish, as she takes viewers on a dreamlike tour of legendary Los Angeles locales.

“I definitely have fantasies about L.A. — a whole different world interwoven with my world,” Eilish says in the trailer. “It’s a concert film, but it’s also a story at the same time. This kind of beautiful version of Old Hollywood.”

In a previously released statement, Eilish said, “Disney is incredibly iconic, so to collaborate on something like this is a huge honor. To be able to present my album in this way and dedicate it to the city that I love and grew up in is so exciting to me. I hope you love it.”

Happier Than Ever will feature performances by Eilish’s brother and frequent collaborator Finneas, the Los Angeles Children’s Chorus, the Los Angeles Philharmonic conducted by Music & Artistic Director Gustavo Dudamel, and guitarist Romero Lubambo, along with Orchestra Arrangements by David Campbell.

The film was produced by Interscope Films and Darkroom Productions, in association with Nexus Studios and Aron Levine Productions. Kerry Asmussen was the Live Concert Director, while Pablo Berron served as Director of Photography.

Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter To Los Angeles premieres globally on Disney+ on September 3. Scroll up to watch the official trailer.
