Are Those Charlie Cox’s Hot Arms in the ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Trailer?

The first teaser trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home is here! Peter Parker and MJ flirting! Ned in the hot seat! Dr. Strange in sweats! F’ing Alfred Molina back as Doctor Octopus! The trailer gives us all that and… some fans can’t stop talking about a hairy forearm.

With good reason, mind you! This isn’t just any hairy forearm. The hairy forearm that slams some files down on a table could belong to someone we know—someone whose involvement in No Way Home could be a gamechanger for the MCU. That someone is Charlie Cox, a.k.a. Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil. Is the next Spider-Man film opening the door for Marvel Studios to integrate aspects of Netflix’s Marvel-verse into the official canon? Could these forearms be the first clue that Daredevil’s about to leap into action after being unceremoniously canceled by Netflix? Let’s investigate!

First, the evidence:

Yep, that is a hairy forearm, all right. And a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up? If that doesn’t scream, “I’m a lawyer, dammit, and I have had it” then what does? But the question is, are they Charlie Cox’s hairy—and just absolutely stunning, mind you—forearms. Here’s what Mr. Cox is working with.

Good lord. I have never wanted to be Deborah Ann Woll more than I do while looking at the third picture. Just… what a man and what forearms… What is this article about? Where am I? Oh—!

So yeah—hairy forearms in the trailer and hairy forearms featured on three seasons of TV and one miniseries. I will say—sorry to that man, but the forearm in the trailer is not as hot as Daredevil’s. Granted, we only get one shot and the resolution isn’t great. It could be Charlie Cox… but then again, the torso doesn’t look that much like Cox and I find it hard to believe that Matt Murdock would wear such an oversized button-up.

The whole reason this is a thing, BTW, is because there have been rumors for a while that Cox is reprising his role as Matt Murdock in No Way Home. Of course Marvel Studios hasn’t confirmed this, but the fact that this film is bringing back Alfred Molina as the same Doc Ock from 2004’s Spider-Man 2 and giving us more of J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson makes Cox’s return seem plausible. After all, the MCU is starting to feel the lack of Daredevil, IMO!

But before we declare this investigation closed, we have one more piece of evidence to inspect. This hirsute mystery man appears a few seconds earlier in the teaser, too…

So, that’s not Charlie Cox. It’s definitely not Matt Murdock. First, this character (probably a detective and not a lawyer) isn’t wearing Murdock’s signature red glasses. And second, Matt Murdock is blind. His radar sense helps him get around without a cane, but he has to put up the act when he’s out of costume and on the clock. It’s not Daredevil.

That doesn’t mean Daredevil’s not in Spider-Man: No Way Home. We must not lose hope! The MCU needs Daredevil, and Charlie Cox needs to keep playing Daredevil. Forever. And Matt Murdock needs lots of scenes that take place towards the end of an 18-hour workday where he’s exhausted and had to roll up the sleeves and loosen the tie a bit. For dramatic purposes only. No other reasons.
