Will ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ Be on Disney+?

Peter Parker, welcome to the multiverse. The third installment of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy is headed to theaters on December 17 for an exclusive engagement, but Marvel devotees may already be wondering: Will Spider-Man: No Way Home be on Disney+?

Currently, the first two Holland Spider-Man movies — Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home — aren’t on the streamer, since they’re also Sony Pictures releases. But a new agreement could change that, and impact where you can watch the MCU’s third Spider-Man film after its theatrical run.

In the meantime, let’s break down everything to know about streaming No Way Home.

IS SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME COMING TO DISNEY+?

Yep! Eventually! In April, Deadline reported that Disney and Sony have inked a multi-year deal to add Spider-Man movies to Disney+. Under the agreement, films released between 2022 and 2026 will move to Disney+ after landing first at Netflix. The deal also includes library rights to the entire Spider-Man franchise.

WHEN WILL SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME BE ON DISNEY+?

This is where things get more complicated. No Way Home hits theaters on December 17, 2021, so it’s technically not part of that “2022-2026” part of the new deal.

Even if Disney and Sony decide it falls under their new agreement anyway, you’ll still have to wait a while to catch the third installment of the Tom Holland-starring trilogy on Disney+. New Sony titles hit Netflix approximately 18 months after leaving theaters, and it’s unclear how long No Way Home will stay there before heading to Disney’s streaming service.

Luckily, you probably won’t have to wait that long to watch other films starring your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Under the new deal, Sony’s library titles — which include the Tobey Maguire Spider-Man movies, the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies, and the first two Holland MCU movies — could arrive on streaming platforms sometime this year, according to Variety.

WHEN WILL SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY HOME BE ON NETFLIX?

New Sony releases arrive on Netflix exactly 18 months after leaving theaters, so expect No Way Home to hit the streamer around summer 2023.
