It wouldn’t be Rick and Morty without a confusing and shockingly long waiting period. When Season 5 first premiered, we had high hopes. New episodes were airing on a weekly basis, and it seemed as if we were in for a traditional 10-week season of television. We were wrong.
Right after the premiere of Episode 8, “Rickternal Friendshine of the Spotless Mort”, Adult Swim announced that Rick and Morty would be taking a break. Wondering when you can expect Rick and Morty Season 5’s finale? Here’s everything you need to know about that two-part conclusion.
Is There a New Episode of Rick and Morty Tonight?
That’s a big negative, which is the bad news. The good news is that this is the last week of the show’s hiatus. The final two episodes of Rick and Morty Season 5 will premiere on Sunday, September 5. Instead of a new episode, tonight Adult Swim will air Episode 3, “A Mortconvinenet Truth”, during the show’s typical time slot.
Why Isn’t There a New Episode of Rick and Morty Tonight?
Only Adult Swim’s executives and Rick and Morty’s creators know the answer. The delay could be happening to boost ratings for Season 5’s finale. But it’s also equally possible that it’s happening due to a production delay or because Adult Swim was feeling mischievous this summer. Regardless of the reason, the finale should premiere next week.
