DC FanDome 2021 Announces Initial Lineup: ‘The Batman,’ ‘Peacemaker,’ ‘Supergirl’ And More

Are you ready to head back to the ‘dome? Warner Bros. sure hopes you are, as the second global, virtual fan event DC FanDome will begin streaming on October 16. Though the full schedule will come at a later point, the lineup is already packed with movies (The Batman, Black Adam, The Flash), TV shows (Peacemaker, Superman & Lois, The Flash), video games (The Flash, probably? Just kidding), and so much more.

Last year’s FanDome came on the heels of the beginning of the pandemic, and was one of the first major streaming events that dropped online, other than more home-grown efforts. Focused on DC’s stable of characters, the event initially was supposed to be a massive series of virtual islands, and but was quickly “downsized” into one streaming event looped multiple times over several hours. The eventual show, though, wowed fans, dominated social media, and set the tone for what virtual “conventions” could be like. It also spawned a sequel event focusing more on TV and comics in the Fall.

And now, it’s back for the official second round with the promise of even more huge trailer reveals, tributes, and buzzy panels. Like last year’s eventual roll-out, the show will stream on DCFanDome.com, as well as Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. Additionally, a kid friendly hub will run simultaneously (run, you know, like The Flash?) over at DCKidsFanDome.com.

“DC FanDome 2020 was a first-of-its kind global virtual fan experience and showcased every aspect of the DC Universe with unprecedented scale and access,” Ann Sarnoff, Chair and Chief Executive Officer, WarnerMedia Studios and Networks Group, said in a statement provided to Decider. “This year, we’re taking everything that people loved about DC FanDome and supercharging it to super-serve fans with even more exclusive first-looks, breaking news, in-depth interviews and insight from the stars and creative teams of their favorite DC content.”

Supercharging to super-serve with superheroes? Super-sign me up!

Okay, enough hacky jokes out of the way… What can one expect at this year’s DC FanDome? Well, a good chunk of it will look like, uh, last year’s DC FanDome, albeit with additional footage available, thanks to the massive delays most projects have suffered thanks to COVID.

On the movie side of things, there will be six titles highlighted: The Batman, starring Robert Pattinson, which will be bringing a new trailer; new “content” from the animated movie DC League of Super-Pets, which stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Krypto the Super-Dog; Black Adam, which stars The Rock in a non-dog, live action role; a sneak peek at the movie version of The Flash, starring Ezra Miller; and behind the scenes looks at sequels Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

Over to television, you’ll get a look at Batwoman Season 3, The Flash Season 8Superman & Lois Season 2 and Sweet Tooth Season 2. In addition, there’ll be a farewell tribute to The CW’s Supergirl, a sure to be wacky celebration of 100 episodes of DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, a look at The CW’s Naomi, and a sneak peek at an upcoming episode of DC’s Stargirl. Not only that, but HBO Max will be highlighting The Suicide Squad spinoff series Peacemaker, and limited event series DMZ. There will also be advance looks at Titans and Doom Patrol, as well as animated series Young Justice: Phantoms, and the highly anticipated third season of Harley Quinn.

There’s plenty more coming to FanDome including panels and reveals for video games, animated films, and even a few panels about, you know… Comic books. The thing that started it all? Anyway.

You can check out a teaser trailer for DC FanDome above, a teaser poster below, and start counting the days (45, FYI) until the event arrives.
