‘Unsolved Mysteries’: Season 3 Will Premiere on Netflix in Summer 2022

Netflix is getting ready to investigate even more Unsolved Mysteries. The streamer has renewed its reboot of the classic true crime show for a third season, with new episodes slated to premiere in summer 2022.

Unsolved Mysteries‘ first two seasons dove into paranormal mysteries and cold cases, from alleged UFO encounters to an escaped killer’s Christmas shopping spree. The series is executive-produced by Terry Dunn Meurer of Cosgrove/Meurer Productions and Stranger Things‘ Josh Barry and Shawn Levy (representing 21 Laps Entertainment).

“The Unsolved Mysteries production team at Cosgrove/Meurer Productions couldn’t be more excited about developing volume 3 of our successful Netflix series,” executive producer Terry Dunn Meurer said in a statement. “We’re currently in production on more intriguing mysteries and we look forward to our viewers’ help in solving the new cases next summer.”

Barry and Levy added: “The massive success of our last two volumes on Netflix proved that there is enduring and passionate love for this iconic franchise, and we can’t wait to dig into more of the stories that Unsolved Mysteries tells so uniquely well. 21 Laps is committed to emotional humanist stories, and to be able to tell more of these true stories of mystery alongside Cosgrove/Meurer, who produced the original series, is a dream come true.”

According to Netflix, the Unsolved Mysteries team have received over 5,000 tips about mysterious cases since the first installment premiered. While it hasn’t been confirmed, expect the next season to carry on without a host, instead relying on re-enactments and testimonials for each episode.

The first two seasons of Unsolved Mysteries are now streaming on Netflix.
