After two long years, the Apple TV+ series See is finally back for Season 2, with new episodes airing on Fridays.

The action-packed sci fi drama takes place hundreds of years in the future, after a virus destroyed our society and created a mutation that left the human race blind. Jason Momoa stars in the series as Baba Voss (Jason Momoa), the leader of a hunter-gatherer nomadic tribe whose adopted children somehow have the ability to see. He must then fight to protect his family from the world’s Queen (Sylvia Hoeks), who has deemed non-blind people a threat to the future.

See blends action, science fiction, and fantasy in a one-of-a-kind way, but if you’re looking for more shows like it while you wait for new episodes to drop, we’ve got you covered. Here are seven shows to watch if you love See.

1

'Game of Thrones'

Obviously, the biggest connection between See and Game of Thrones is that Momoa plays a major role in both series. But it’s also filled with epic, fantastical world-building and follows the power struggles between a formidable cast of characters, so what’s not to like? Adapted from George R.R. Martin’s best-selling book series A Song of Ice and Fire, the iconic HBO show tells the story of powerful families dueling for control of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros in a medieval-esque fantasy world.

Throughout See, Voss’ twins, Kofun (Archie Madekwe) and Haniwa (Nesta Cooper), are forced to fight for the future of a post-apocalyptic world that’s often turned against them. The main characters of The CW’s series The 100 find themselves in a similar predicament. Set generations after nuclear Armageddon seemingly destroyed life on Earth, the show begins as 100 juvenile prisoners are sent back to test the planet’s habitability, and find themselves responsible for forging an exciting and terrifying new civilization.

'Altered Carbon'

The Netflix show Altered Carbon unfolds in a future where a person’s consciousness can be uploaded to a new body, essentially allowing humanity to escape death. When former soldier and prisoner Takeshi Kovacs (Joel Kinnaman) is suddenly transferred to a new body by a wealthy aristocrat, he finds himself tasked with solving a high-profile murder. Like See, this series explores what it fundamentally means to be human in a world where humanity has evolved into something new.

You can’t discuss the most consequential sci-fi TV of recent years without mentioning HBO’s Westworld. In this futuristic show, wealthy tourists journey to the show’s titular theme park, where they live out their Western fantasies and wreak havoc on the robotic “hosts” that populate it. But when the hosts begin to gain true sentience, the boundaries between the old world and this new one become dangerously blurred.

'The Walking Dead'

The Walking Dead isn’t technically science fiction, but you’d be hard-pressed to find a show with richer post-apocalyptic world-building than this one. The long-running AMC drama follows a group of survivors as they band together and are forced to their limits after society crumbles thanks to a zombie outbreak. With 11 seasons and multiple spin-offs, The Walking Dead is bound to leave you with ample content while waiting for the next episode of See.

The historical drama centers on legendary Norse hero Viking Ragnar Lothbrok (Travis Fimmel), who starts off as a 13th century farmer with bold ambitions. From there, he and his family fight to gain control of England and take the Scandinavian crown for good.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve definitely heard of Disney+’s big Star Wars live-action series, The Mandalorian. Set after Return of the Jedi, the show follows a nomadic bounty hunter known as “Mando” (Pedro Pascal), whose life is upended when he’s tasked with caring for a very special child who many refer to as…wait for it…Baby Yoda. The show boasts all the epic action sequences, rugged terrain, and found family dynamics that make See so compelling, albeit in a more otherworldly setting.
