HBO Max’s Podcast ‘Batman: The Audio Adventures’ To Debut on Batman Day in September

Finally, something we can all listen to while taking a ride in the Batmobile. As a part of Warner Bros. Batman Day announcements, HBO Max has dropped the news that their very first podcast, called Batman: The Audio Adventures, will release this month. All ten episodes of the brand new story will drop on the special day next weekend, so get ready for some Gotham-style mysteries with Batman, Catwoman, and the rest of the crew.

As if the news of a Batman podcast and whole Batman Day wasn’t exciting enough, brace yourself for this stellar cast. Jeffrey Wright will lend his voice to the lead role, playing Batman alongside Rosario Dawson‘s Catwoman and John Leguizamo‘s The Riddler. The series also boasts appearances from an all-star voice cast, including Ted Lasso‘s very own Jason Sudeikis, as well as Chris Parnell, Melissa Villaseñor, Seth Meyers, Brent Spiner, Ike Barinholtz, Bobby Moynihan, Kenan Thompson, Alan Tudyk, Heidi Gardner, Brooke Shields, Paul Scheer, Tim Meadows, Fred Armisen, and Ray Wise.

If you’re noticing a lot of Saturday Night Live actors on this podcast, well, there’s a good reason for that: the series is written and directed by Emmy-award winning SNL alum Dennis McNicholas. Doug Boss will provide original music for the project.

Although this new audio series will be on HBO Max, it’ll be an entirely audio-based project. Even though it may look like every other HBO show that plays with a visual, this one won’t have any actual scenes to watch, just a mildly animated graphic and some text. Another addendum to note: although Batman: The Audio Adventures is a podcast, you won’t find it in the podcast app or music streaming services. This one is on HBO Max, and HBO Max only.

Both HBO and Warner Bros. are already working on several Batman-related projects, so there’s a lot to celebrate on the upcoming Batman Day. In the HeightsLeslie Grace has just been cast as Batgirl in the upcoming HBO Max series, playing Commissioner Jim Gordon’s daughter. Then, Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves have been tapped for a brand new Batman animated series on the streamer. On top of those two projects, Warner Bros. is also working on the Robert Pattinson-led The Batman, which is set to release next year.

Batman Day will take place this year on Sept. 18 — again, that’s next weekend! All ten episodes of Batman: The Audio Adventures will drop on HBO Max on the same day.
