Brett Goldstein’s Emmy Speech Got Bleeped By CBS: Watch Full “F***ing” Uncensored Video From ‘Ted Lasso’ Star

One of the first Emmys given out tonight was to Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein. A stand up comic and writer on the show, Goldstein has captured our hearts as the foul-mouthed Roy Kent. And now he has the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Emmy for the part. The only problem? CBS censored most of the British comic’s curse-laden acceptance speech. So what exactly did Brett Goldstein say? Thankfully an uncensored version of the video has made its way online…

So here’s the deal: Roy Kent is known for a few specific things on the show Ted Lasso. He’s a simmering rage beast on the soccer field, completely in love with Juno Temple’s Keeley Jones, and curses. Like, a lot. Google Roy Kent and you’ll find a ton of supercuts of his finest choice “fucks.” Naturally, Goldstein was warned about the cursing before arriving at the hoity toity Emmys.

“I was very, very specifically told I’m not allowed to swear, so this speech is going to be fucking short,” Goldstein said at the top of his speech…but CBS naturally bleeped out the colorful part.

Ironically, if you watch an uncensored version found by fans on Twitter, you’ll note that the bulk of Goldstein’s speech is sweet and sincere. And only a few fucks are given…

“Thank you Warners, thank you Apple, thank you…the team. To my teammates that I’m nominated with and all my team—” Goldstein continued. “This cast make me sick, they’re so good. And I want to say to my mum, my dad, Tara, Matt, Zebby, and Bo and Beth, I love you. And lastly, I want to say to Jason, Bill, Brendan, and Joe Kelly, thank you for making this show. Thank you for making me apart of it. It has been one of the greatest honors, privileges, and privileges — I just said that twice — double privilege! It’s the most privileged privilege and pleasures of my life.”

“…and this is the fucking icing on the cake,” Goldstein said. “I’m so sorry. Please have me back!”

Given the way Roy Kent destroyed every Ted Lasso fan with a single hug, we’re guessing he’ll be back at the Emmys next year…
