MLP fans better get ready for some new faces of friendship, because the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie is coming to Netflix this weekend.
Directed by Robert Cullen and José Ucha, this computer-animated family movie is actually the fifth iteration of the My Little Pony franchise, a series that has been wildly popular among both the target demographic of young girls and, somewhat infamously, the older male fans who call themselves “bronies.”
The new generation of ponies in the Netflix movie—originally a Paramount release before the COVID-19 pandemic—are a brand new cast of characters, whose adventures take place many years after the time of Twilight Sparkle. Vanessa Hudgens voices an Earth pony named Sunny Starscout, and other voice cast members include Kimiko Glenn, James Marsden, Liza Koshy, Jane Krakowski, Ken Jeong, and more.
