Sarah Jessica Parker is “not ready” to speak about her Sex and the City costar Willie Garson‘s death on Tuesday (September 21). The two starred as best friends Carrie Bradshaw and Stanford Blatch on the HBO series, and recently filmed scenes together for the upcoming reboot, And Just Like That…
While Parker hasn’t shared her own post yet, she commented on Sex and the City star Chris Noth’s Instagram tribute, which features a photo of Garson and Parker on the show’s set.
“Thank you dearest Chris. I’m not ready yet. Xxx,” Parker commented.
Garson died Tuesday afternoon after suffering from pancreatic cancer. He was 57.
Following news of the actor’s passing, many Sex and the City stars took to social media to honor Garson’s legacy.
Cynthia Nixon shared a throwback photo of herself and Garson on Twitter, writing, “So deeply, deeply sad we have lost @WillieGarson. We all loved him and adored working with him. He was endlessly funny on-screen and in real life. He was a source of light, friendship, and show business lore. He was a consummate professional — always.”
“My heart goes out to his son, Nathen,” she continued. “Nathen, I hope you know how much he loved you and how proud he was to be your dad.”
Mario Cantone, who plays Stanford’s husband in Sex and the City, penned a tribute of his own. “I couldn’t have had a more brilliant TV partner,” he wrote. “I’m devastated and just overwhelmed with sadness. Taken away from all of us way soon. You were a gift from the gods sweet Willie. Rest …I love you.”
“Such sad news and a terribly sad loss to the SATC family,” tweeted Kim Cattrall, who plays Samantha in the series. “Our condolences and RIP dear Willie xo.”
