‘Tiger King 2’: Netflix Announces Follow-Up Series Debuting This Year

Netflix is clawing for more Tiger King. After the wild true-crime docuseries went viral for players like Joe Exotic, Carole Baskin, and more, the series will return for Tiger King 2 later this year. While we may not know what this new season will focus on just yet, one thing’s for certain: we’re about to get an array of new fashion inspirations from our favorite animal print-clad stars.

The series’ plot is currently being kept under wraps. We also don’t know who might return for Season 2: we could see appearances from Baskin, Exotic (who is currently in jail), John Reinke, Kelci Saffery, John Finlay, Bhagavan “Doc” Antle, or more. A few weeks ago, though, Tiger King zookeeper Erik Cowie passed away.

The first season of Tiger King debuted in March 2020 as the global pandemic began, attracting 64 million households while folks were social distancing in their homes. The docuseries follows an epic rivalry between two animal park bosses, resulting in murder, murder-for-hire schemes, and plenty of other ferocious mayhem.

Eric Goode and Rebecca Chaiklin have been set to return as directors on the second part of the show, also executive producing with Chris Smith and Fisher Stevens. The series will be produced by A Goode Films Production in association with Library Films and Article 19 Films.

Along with the Tiger King news, Netflix also teased four more new true crime documentaries all debuting in 2022. The Puppet Master: Hunting the Ultimate Conman will follow one of the world’s most audacious conmen; The Tinder Swindler will tell the story of a conman who posed as a billionaire on Tinder; Trust No One: The Hunt for the Crypto King will be about a group of investors trying to figure out the death of a cryptocurrency multimillionaire; and Bad Vegan, which will follow a “Vegan Fugitive,” a vigilante out for blood from a conman.
