‘Emily in Paris’ Season 2 Premieres This December

Are you ready for more fancy adventures in Emily in Paris Season 2? Well get ready, because Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) and all her French friends are back for a second season on Netflix on December 22, 2021, as just revealed as part of the streamer’s virtual TUDUM event.

According to Netflix, in Season 2, “now more entrenched in her life in Paris, Emily’s getting better at navigating the city but still struggling with the idiosyncrasies of French life. After stumbling into a love triangle with her neighbor and her first real French friend, Emily is determined to focus on her work — which is getting more complicated by the day. In French class, she meets a fellow expat who both infuriates and intrigues her.”

The series was a surprise hit when it was released in October, 2020, thanks in part to showrunner Darren Star’s magic touch with fluffy, light romantic comedies (he previously created Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, Sex and the City, and Younger, as well as the upcoming And Just Like That…). It was also a surprise Emmy nominee for Best Comedy, though it did not win. FYI.

The second season will welcome back Collins as the titular role (reminder: the “Emily” rhymes with “Paris”), as well as cast-members Philippine Leroy Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Camille Razat, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie, and recurring guest star Kate Walsh. Lucien Laviscount, Jeremy O. Harris, and Arnaud Binard join the series for Season 2.

The second season will comprise another 10, 30 minute episodes, and is sure to spawn approximately one billion tweets exasperatedly lamenting the ludicrous culture clash mix-ups perpetuated by Emily, as well as bizarre relationship to social media… Which only drives more people to watch the show, which almost definitely guarantees it a third season. It’s a vicious cycle, people!

Emily in Paris Season 2 premieres December 22, 2021 on Netflix.
