Class is about to be back in session!

Netflix’s virtual fan event TUDUM has featured no shortage of announcements and fun surprises, but one particular piece of news is sure to make fans of the streamer’s beloved coming-of-age series Sex Education ecstatic: We’re officially getting a fourth season!

We can’t say we’re surprised about the show’s Season 4 renewal. Debuting in January of 2019, Laurie Nunn’s sophisticated teen dramedy quickly became one of Netflix’s most popular shows, earning acclaim from both fans and critics alike. The third season of Sex Education was a true return to form, or as we said in our review a “cozy, charismatic hug with bravado to spare.”

Sex Education Season 3 spoilers ahead.

The season finale hinted that there was still plenty of stories left to tell at Moordale. Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) and Adam’s (Connor Swindells) romantic relationship came to an end, the future of Moordale is in grave jeopardy, the father of Jean’s (Gillian Anderson) baby remains a mystery, and Otis (Asa Butterfield) and Maeve’s (Emma Mackey) inevitable romance was put on hold as Maeve decided to travel to America to attend a gifted program.

What exactly does the future have in store for Sex Education? We don’t know, but we can’t wait to find out.

Netflix didn’t announce a specific Season 4 premiere date, but based on previous release dates, we expect the new season to debut in the fall of 2022.

All three seasons of Sex Education are currently streaming on Netflix.
