Ana Navarro Tests Negative After ‘The View’s COVID Chaos On Friday

The View contributor Ana Navarro has reportedly tested negative for COVID-19 three times following Friday’s chaotic episode, in which she and co-host Sunny Hostin were told that they had tested positive on-air — right before they were meant to conduct an in-studio interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.

“Very thankful to have gotten a third negative PCR test result this afternoon,” Navarro tweeted on Saturday. She previously informed her followers that she was quarantining in New York until she received her results.

“It was very important to err on the side of caution, because it was about the safety of the vice president,” Navarro explained in a Twitter video that same day. “I want to thank Kamala Harris and her team for being such pros and rolling with the punches.”

Navarro concluded by urging others to get vaccinated against the virus, “so we can beat this damn thing, once and for all.”

The ABC talk show was originally supposed to host Harris on Friday for her first in-person interview since becoming vice president. However, the episode was thrown into chaos when Navarro and Hostin were pulled off-stage live on air after testing positive for COVID-19.

“No matter how hard we try, these things happen,” co-host Joy Behar told the audience. “They probably had a breakthrough case. They’ll be okay, I’m sure, because they’re both vaccinated up the wazoo!”

Behar and her co-host Sara Haines ultimately interviewed Harris remotely as a safety precaution, with just 10 minutes left in the episode.

“Sunny and Ana are strong women, and I know they’re fine, but it really does also speak to the fact that they’re vaccinated,” Harris said. “Vaccines really make all the difference, because otherwise we would be concerned about hospitalization and worse.”

The View airs weekdays on ABC at 11/10c.
