‘The Masked Singer’: Ken Jeong’s Groan-Worthy Guess May Be Hiding a Clue [Exclusive Clip]

Ken Jeong is back on The Masked Singer with another guess that’s making his fellow judges roll their eyes. Ahead of this week’s episode, Decider has your first look at what Group B has in store for us. But this time around Jeong’s questionable guessing skills may be hiding a major clue.

Last week, Season 6 of The Masked Singer introduced us to the five contestants and two wildcards in Group A. Now it’s Group B’s time to shine. This Wednesday, September 29, we’ll see the premiere of five new contestants, including Banana Split, Cupcake, Dalmatian, Mallard, and Queen of Hearts. And it isn’t long after Mallard’s performance before Jeong announces his own quack theory.

“Billy Ray Cyrus is from Kentucky,” Jeong says as the audience groans. “Carriage includes ‘Old Town Road.’ Billy Ray Cyrus.”

But it’s when Jeong starts to dance to “Achy Breaky Heart” that the real magic happens. A costumed horse trots on stage to stand behind Mallard. “Billy Ray Cyrus rides a horse!” Jeong screams confidently.

While the judges try to figure out if the horse is a clue or not, the two-person costume breaks apart with one half running off the left side of the stage and the other half taking the right. Since anything goes in The Masked Singer, we have to assume that this random horse is in fact a clue. Check out the clip above and decide what it means for yourself.

Since the series first debuted on Fox in 2019, The Masked Singer has been a juggernaut for the network. For every season it has aired, the celebrity singing competition series has received the highest Nielsen ratings for a non-sports program in the adults 18–49 demographic. And in its sixth season, it’s still going strong. According to Fox, this season its contestants have a combined “85 Grammy nominations, 27 Grammy wins, 12 Emmy nominations, 12 Razzie Award nominations, three Academy Award nominations, two Super Bowl appearances, and two lifetime achievement awards.” Let the guessing commence.

New episodes of The Masked Singer premiere on Fox Wednesdays at 8/7c p.m.
