Gomez meets with professional chefs to brush up on her cooking skills in the COVID-19 lockdown, resulting in a food show that’s as equally charming as the delights of Only Murders. 'Monk'
Back for more murders with Monk, which follows Tony Shalhoub as a prominent homicide detective who loses his job due to spiraling caused by the death of his wife. After the unsolved mystery of his wife’s murder gets under his skin, Shalhoub’s Monk develops obsessive-compulsive disorder, leading to a phobia of germs and contamination. Still eager to help solve mysteries, Monk tags along with his former boss — all off the record, of course, as he’s not technically employed. With dark humor and a fantastic leading performance from Shalhoub, Monk will surely impress fans of Only Murders.
'Castle'
Another warped mystery series to check out is Castle, which stars Nathan Fillion as a writer-turned-detective working alongside official investigators. When his novels call for more inspiration, Rick Castle delves into the real underworld of crime with NYPD detective Kate Beckett. Finding himself more inspired than ever, Castle completely shifts the way he goes about writing his mystery novels, pestering Kate for more drama. Along with the twists and turns of each new mystery, Castle offers plenty of fun banter between its two leads that’s akin to Only Murders.
'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency'
Criminally underrated, The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency combines whip-smart wit with some real tangles of mystery for a show that all Only Murders fans will enjoy. Precious Ramotswe leads the series as a woman who opens her very own — you guessed it — ladies detective agency in Botswana. With the help of her friends and associates, Precious takes on cases far and wide to make Botswana free of crime. From missing cars to fingers, Precious vows to tackle each new case with care.
'The Flight Attendant'
The Flight Attendant soars as one of HBO Max’s best mystery series. Kaley Cuoco stars as a mixed up stewardess who spirals out of control after she sleeps with a passenger who ends up brutally murdered next to her in bed the next morning. Instead of calling the authorities, she tries to cover up his death, fleeing from the scene of the crime. And, naturally, the intrigue doesn’t end there: there’s some deeper mystery afoot, and this flight attendant is going to have to use her smarts to solve the crime before the murderers catch up with her.
'Veronica Mars'
Selena Gomez is a fantastic mystery leading lady, but Kristen Bell is just as great in Veronica Mars. Once a cheery popular girl, Veronica Mars has turned snarky and cynical after a series of family traumas led her astray from the norm. Instead of going to parties and acting like a normal lead, Veronica now tags along with her private investigator dad to solve mysteries involving the rich and famous folks living the messed up town of Neptune, California.
