Where and When was ‘Halloween Kills’ Filmed?

Michael Myers and Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) are facing off once again in Halloween Kills, the newest installment in the iconic Halloween slasher franchise. Picking up where its 2018 predecessor left off, the David Gordon Green-directed film once again finds Laurie fighting the masked killer alongside her daughter (Judy Greer) and granddaughter (Andi Matichak).

Halloween Kills may be set in the town of Haddonfield, Illinois, but where was the new horror installment actually filmed? Here’s everything to know:

WHERE WAS HALLOWEEN KILLS FILMED?

Halloween Kills was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina. Scenes were shot at Cape Fear Community College’s campus (which stood in for Haddonfield Memorial Hospital), as well as Greenfield Lake and the historic neighborhood of Carolina Place.

WHEN WAS HALLOWEEN KILLS FILMED?

Halloween Kills filmed from September to November 2019. In a March interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Matichak revealed that they initially planned to film Halloween Kills back-to-back with its sequel, Halloween Ends. This plan was ultimately abandoned due to the “intense schedule,” as well as the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
