‘Titans’ Renewed for Season 4 by HBO Max

Go, adult Titans! HBO Max has officially renewed the dark, DC Comics based series Titans for a fourth season, after the first two aired on the defunct DC Universe streaming service. And not only that, thanks to the virtual DC FanDome event we have a sneak peek at the Season 3 finale that intriguingly asks: who is Selina Kyle?

Focusing on more mature versions of the classic teen characters, Titans Season 3 has moved the conflicted heroes to Gotham City where they’ve come into direct conflict with their old ally Jason Todd (Curran Walters). In the background… Well, a lot of stuff has been happening, but suffice to say it looks like Scarecrow (Vincent Kartheiser) is the big bad they’re going to have to face in the finale.

In the clip, Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) and Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo) are coaching Gar Logan (Ryan Potter) through breaking into Wayne Manor’s security system. Unfortunately, they’re interrupted by Jason, so it’s up to Dick to head over and stop him, with the ominous advice that Gar should cut the red wire on the security panel.

Spoiler: it works, and Gar gets into the system, but then has to answer the question: “Who is the one who got away?” Seems like, uh, a relatively straightforward security system for, you know… Batman. But whatever, Gar tries Joker, then Riddler, and neither work until Tim suggests typing in “Selina Kyle,” leading to the question up top from Gar.

So does this tease that like how an older Bruce Wayne showed up on Titans, we might also see an older Selina Kyle in Season 4? Just a suggestion, but since the series got Iain Glen to play Bruce, how about getting Emilia Clarke to play Selina, and then you can have some of those old Jorah/Daenerys flames going from Game of Thrones? He could even call her “Catleesi,” that would be fun.

Titans also stars Anna Diop, Teagan Croft, Conor Leslie, and Joshua Orpin with Alan Ritchson, Minka Kelly, Damaris Lewis and Savannah Welch. The Season 3 finale will stream Thursday, October 21, and presumably Season 4 will debut some time next year, though there’s no confirmed premiere date as of yet.
