‘America’s Got Talent: Extreme’ Suspends Production Indefinitely After Horrific On Set Injury

Production on the America’s Got Talent spinoff America’s Got Talent: Extreme has been paused indefinitely after stuntman Jonathan Goodwin was seriously injured on set. For the stunt, TMZ reports that Goodwin was supposed to free himself from a straight jacket while dangling 70 feet in the air, suspended between two cars. But Goodwin was reportedly crushed between the cars, causing an explosion during filming. He was then airlifted to the hospital. His current condition is unknown.

An AGT spokeswoman later released a statement announcing that production of the show would be put on pause. “Our thoughts and prayers remain with Jonathan Goodwin and his family as he continues to recover from his accident on Thursday,” she said. “In order to focus on the wellbeing of our crew, we will be temporarily pausing production on America’s Got Talent: Extreme and will resume the last few days of filming at a later date. The health and safety of our cast and crew continue to be our priority.”

America’s Got Talent: Extreme spotlights outrageous and jaw-dropping “daredevil acts” with contestants competing each week in a series of wild stunts. The show is hosted by Terry Crews, alongside judges like Nikki Bella, Simon Cowell, and Travis Pastrana. It’s currently set to premiere midseason on NBC.
