Dune? Never heard of it. The movie event of this week is clearly the release of After We Fell, the third movie in the ongoing After franchise. For those who are blissfully unaware, these are movies based on romance novels, which in turn are based on One Direction fanfiction. Make of that what you will.

Josephine Langford is back as Tessa Young, who is gearing up to move to Seattle for a brand new job, and Hero Fiennes-Tiffin is back as Hardin Scott, her borderline abusive boyfriend. After We Fell doesn’t really have a plot—it’s mostly just Hardin getting angry at Tess over nothing. The couple fights, they stew, they make up, they have sex. Rinse and repeat no less than four times, and you have a full-length movie.

But believe it or not, this is not the end of Tess and Hardin’s story. There’s one more movie, After Ever Happy, to go. Here’s what we know about After 4, and the After Ever Happy release date.

WILL THERE BE AN AFTER EVER HAPPY MOVIE?

Yes! Good news for all the diehard Afternators out there: After Ever Happy was filmed at the same time as After We Fell, back in October 2020. The film will be based on Anna Todd’s 2015 book of the same name, and will be directed by Castille Landon. Both Langford and Fiennes Tiffin will return as Tess and Hardin respectively. It will be the fourth and final movie in the After saga.

WHEN WILL AFTER 4 COME OUT? WHAT IS THE AFTER EVER HAPPY RELEASE DATE?

We don’t know. The release date for After Ever Happy has not yet been announced. However, because the movie was filmed at the same time as After We Fell, we have a feeling you won’t have to wait too long. You’ll most likely see After Ever Happy in theaters sometime in 2022.
