‘Being the Ricardos’ Teaser Trailer and Streaming Release Date

Aaron Sorkin‘s new film Being the Ricardos promises to give viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the ups and downs one of Hollywood’s most iconic couples: I Love Lucy stars Lucille Ball (played by Nicole Kidman) and Desi Arnaz (played by Javier Bardem).

Before the film premieres on Prime Video on Dec. 21, here’s everything else to know about it:

WHO’S IN THE CAST OF BEING THE RICARDOS?

Apart from Kidman and Bardem, Being the Ricardos also stars Jake Lacy as I Love Lucy writer Bob Carroll Jr.; J.K. Simmons as William Frawley, who played Fred on I Love Lucy; Nina Arianda as Vivian Vance, who played Ethel on I Love Lucy; Tony Hale as the show’s executive producer, Jess Oppenheimer; and Alia Shawkwat as writer Madelyn Pugh.

WHAT IS THE PLOT OF BEING THE RICARDOS?

Being the Ricardos takes place over the course of one production week on the set of I Love Lucy. From a table read through a live studio taping, Ball and Arnaz face off-screen challenges that could threaten both their marriage and their status as Hollywood stars.

While the first trailer mostly hides Kidman’s transformation into Ball, a close-up confirms that the film will recreate I Love Lucy‘s iconic grape stomping scene.
