Riverdale Season 5 finally landed on Netflix earlier this month, but we don’t blame you if you’re already looking ahead to Season 6. The CW recently released a trailer for the latest season’s 5-episode “Rivervale” event, which teases a new cult, the literal devil’s appearance, a surprise pregnancy, and the introduction of Kiernan Shipka’s Sabrina Spellman. Even by Riverdale standards, it’s a lot.
So, will Riverdale Season 6 be on Netflix soon? And how can you watch the new season in the meantime? Here’s what to know:

Yep! The first five seasons of Riverdale are currently streaming on Netflix.
When does Riverdale Season 6 premiere?
Riverdale Season 6 returns to The CW on Tuesday, Nov. 16 at 9/8c.
When will Riverdale Season 6 be on Netflix?
Usually, new seasons of shows from The CW head to Netflix eight days after they air their last episode, though recent drops (including Riverdale Season 5) have bucked that trend. They still debuted on Netflix, but did not follow the “eight days later model” for reasons that have yet to be revealed by either Warner Bros. or Netflix.
But even given that, figuring out when exactly Riverdale Season 6 will wrap up is complicated, because The CW has been forced to take a new approach to filming and releasing its shows amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
During The CW’s 2021-2022 schedule announcement, the network shared the news that Riverdale (along with The Flash) will launch this fall with five-episode long events, before continuing with their full seasons at a later date.
“While the industry and the country are gradually reopening, we expect it will take us until Fall 2022 to get back to a regular schedule,” CW Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mark Pedowitz explained to Decider back in May.
Provided that Riverdale Season 6 returns to the show’s usual 20 to 22-episode length seasons, expect it to hit Netflix sometime after the season wraps up in 2022, exact date TBA. Whether that’s eight days later, or weeks later? Also TBA. Regardless, it should hit Netflix at some point next year.
