New Movies and Shows to Stream This Weekend: Army of Thieves, Colin in Black & White and Maradona: Blessed Dream

There is not much going on in the streaming world this weekend to be honest, but that just means you have more time to party and trick or treat! But when you are ready to settle down with your favorite streaming platforms, there are some nice picks for you to explore. On Netflix, you can catch Zack Snyder’s Army of Thieves, his prequel to his zombie film Army of the Dead. Also new on Netflix is Colin in Black & White, the moving limited docuseries by director Ava DuVernay that explores how NFL icon and activist Colin Kaepernick turned into the man we know him to be today. Another docuseries is available on Amazon Prime Video: Maradona: Blessed Dream: the fascinating series about Argentinian soccer icon Diego Maradona. These titles are just some of the treats new on streaming this weekend, and we aren’t trying to trick you! Check out the rest of the hit titles below:

New on Netflix October 29: Army of Thieves

Let’s get cracking — well, safe cracking that is, in the Netflix-original film Army of Thieves that is new on Netflix this weekend. The prequel to Zack Snyder’s zombie action film Army of the Dead, this thrilling comedy centers on Ludwig Dieter, a small-town bank teller who is recruited by a mysterious woman to join a crew of Interpol’s most wanted criminals. The goal: to take advantage of the recent chaotic zombie outbreak to heist a series of legendary, impossible-to-crack safes across Europe. Despite the zombie-filled setting, Army of Thieves does not revolve around zombies and zombie hunting at all, making it a unique film and one of the best new movies on Netflix this month.

New on Netflix October 29: Colin in Black & White

Activist and NFL maverick Colin Kaepernick has still not been invited back to the football world, but he is upping his own game with the debut of his new limited series, Colin in Black & White on Netflix. This eye-opening documentary series directed by trailblazer Ava DuVernay (13th, When They See Us) explores how a young adopted black boy playing high school football in California turned into the activist that we know him to be today. Narrated by Kaepernick himself, the series mixes recreations of moments as a teen athlete with bigger-picture stories about the history of racism in America, proposing that significant events that combined the two in his youth shaped him into who he is now. A moving combination of personal memoir and cultural documentary, Colin in Black & White is a must-watch this weekend.
