Great British Baking Show judge Prue Leith‘s mouth has certainly been getting her in hot water lately, but her long-time penchant* for calling out calorie counts has nothing on what she dropped on this week’s all-new episode on Netflix. During “Pastry Week,” the otherwise dignified Dame had Paul Hollywood crying awkward tears of laughter, Matt Lucas giggling, and baker George stunned with her tips on how to best fill a Chouxnut with cream. So what was so insane? Well, let’s go to the transcript…

First, let’s set the stage. We’ve reached the halfway mark in The Great British Baking Show‘s latest season, which means the challenges are getting harder just as it’s becoming more difficult to see our beloved bakers go home. “Pastry Week” always tests the bakers on their finesse and precision, so it makes sense that Paul and Prue ask the gang to make the newfangled “Chouxnut” for their Signature Challenge. The Chouxnut is a donut made out of Choux pastry, that fancy, light, airy dough usually used for eclairs. The bakers need to make a dozen filled Chouxnuts and a dozen unfilled, and it seems that George has some performance issues piping his cream all the way through his nuts.

Upon getting an unfilled half of Chouxnut, Prue explains her philosophy:

“Quite often, I need two holes so that I can squirt. You squeeze the bag…When you meet that little bit of resistance, usually it means it’s full.”

The boys couldn’t take it. They started blushing and suppressing laughter at around the time Prue said, “Squirt.”

Like, sure, we understand that Prue was speaking technically about her two holes. You need two holes in a Chouxnut to push filling into. And yes, The Great British Baking Show has a long history of playfully adding cheeky double entendres to otherwise benign situations. Soggy bottoms, hot buns, and chocolate starfish have all made appearances on the show. But it’s been a long time since anyone on The Great British Baking Show has delivered as naughty a series of puns as Prue did this week.

I think what made this moment so shocking — besides the fact that Prue kept going on about needing two holes, and squeezing bags, and being able to squirt — was how deadpan the South African judge was. Prue Leith is an intelligent woman. She knew exactly what those words would evoke in the minds of her puerile company. But by continuing with her pervy puns all the way to the end of her point, she made the whole situation all the more awkward, and therefore hilarious.

The Great British Baking Show is often praised for its dignity. There’s something sophisticated about its sweetness, high end desserts, and posh English Estate setting. But don’t ever forget: The Great British Baking Show loves its dirty puns. And Prue Leith might have just served up the nastiest one of all. (At least since Alice’s chocolate starfish…)

*Guys, Prue has been saying stuff like, “That’s worth every calorie,” since her first season on the show. The complaints are warranted but a little late!
