It’s never too early to start the Christmas streaming. Netflix is making its first foray into holiday cheer with Love Hard, a rom-com that doubles as a horror movie just as well. Nina Dobrev stars as Natalie, an innocent gal looking for Mr. Right. And, thankfully, it seems like she found him: Josh is funny, kind, and incredibly good looking. The only problem? She’s never actually met him. She’s only befriended him through a dating app online, and unfortunately, when she encounters the real life version, he turns out to be a catfish. UGH!

In the mean time, one has gone off and “passed over” — meaning, she now passes as white, with a white husband, friends, and life. A rich portrayal of race, gender, and class issues in New York, you won’t want to miss this Sundance darling.
