Bravo Greenlights ‘The Real Housewives of Dubai,’ Franchise’s First Official International Edition

Bravo is headed to the City of Gold. Today, the network announced that it has greenlit The Real Housewives of Dubai, marking the popular reality franchise’s 11th (and first international) iteration.

“With the desert paradise of Dubai as the backdrop, this billionaire’s playground is known for its over-the-top opulence, jaw-dropping modern architecture, and wild nightlife scene,” Bravo said in a release provided to Decider. “Whether they’re coasting on a private plane, running their own empires, or hosting on a private island, these glamorous, successful women are ready to serve up scorching hot drama and unexpected twists.”

While the Real Housewives brand has been licensed internationally (such as The Real Housewives of Cheshire and The Real Housewives of Melbourne), there’s never been an official international version of the series until now.

“Everything’s bigger in Dubai, and I couldn’t be more excited to launch Bravo’s first international Housewives series in a city I’ve been fascinated by for years, with an outstanding group of friends as our guides,” executive producer and Housewives reunion moderator Andy Cohen said in the release.

The production company Truly Original — which also worked on franchise installments like The Real Housewives of Potomac and The Real Housewives of Atlanta — will produce the series. Executive producers include Cohen, Steven Weinstock, Glenda Hersh, Lauren Eskelin, Jamie Jakimo, Brandon Panaligan, Glenda Cox, and Chelsey Stephens.

While The Real Housewives of Dallas — which is currently on indefinite hiatus — previously claimed the “RHOD” hashtag, Bravo has requested fan input for what The Real Housewives of Dubai‘s official hashtag should be. According to the release, fans can vote for either #RHODubai or #RHODXB.

The Real Housewives of Dubai is set to debut in 2022.
