What Time Will ‘tick, tick… BOOM!’ Be on Netflix? How to Watch the Lin-Manuel Miranda Musical

In 1990, RENT composer Jonathan Larson turned 30 years old and felt he had nothing to show for it. He wrote about that feeling in his autobiographical musical, tick, tick… BOOM! which is now a movie starring Andrew Garfield, coming to Netflix this weekend. How’s that for a mid-life crisis?

Directed by Hamilton composer and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, with an adapted screenplay from Steven Levenson, tick, tick… BOOM! is shaping up to be everything theater kids have been waiting for. Not only does is this a musical starring Andrew Garfield as everyone’s favorite boy wonder, Jonathan Larson, it also features Alexandra Shipp, Robin de Jesús, Joshua Henry, and Vanessa Hudgens as Larson’s group of friends, whose names some RENT-heads may recognize. To top it all off, this movie features Bradley Whitford as Stephen Sondheim. As in, the Stephen Sondheim.
