Yellowstone just returned for Season 4, but things are only getting started on the Dutton Ranch. Today, Paramount+ announced a whole array of new cast members for the show’s prequel series, 1883, set to hit the streamer in just one month. They’ll join the cast that’s already been announced, like Sam Elliott and country couple Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.

Joining the cast as series regulars are four new names, including Audie Rick as a young John Dutton Sr. Marc Rissman will also join as Josef, a European immigrant who travels with an employed crew to guide his group across the frontier. Eric Nelsen has joined the cast as Ennis, a handsome cowboy who agrees to help escort a group of inexperienced folk North-bound to find new homes. Lastly, James Landry Hébert has been set as Wade, another young cowboy joining a crew to help hopeful travelers find a new life.

Rick, Rissman, Nelse, and Hébert have joined the already-announced series regulars, including Elliott, Hill, Mcgraw, Billy Bob Thornton, Isabel May, and LaMonica Garrett.

Alongside those folks, Paramount+ has also announced the cast members joining the series as additional characters. Those folks include Dawn Olivieri, Emma Malouff, Alex Fine, Gratiela Brancusi, Anna Fiamora, Nichole Galicia, Stephanie Nur, Amanda Jaros, Noah Le Gros and Martin Sensmeier.

1883 is created by Taylor Sheridan, who also helms the contemporary Yellowstone. The series will follow the early Dutton family as head westward, exploring the Great Plains as they head to a side of America that remains un-claimed. Per Paramount+’s description, “It is a stark retelling of Western expansion, and an intense study of one family fleeing poverty to seek a better future in America’s promised land – Montana.”

1883 marks Sheridan’s second show released by Paramount+ following the massive audience that’s tuned in for Yellowstone. Currently, the filmmaker has two shows with Paramount: Mayor of Kingstown and Yellowstone.

1883 will launch Dec. 19 on Paramount+.
