All The Best ‘Winter House’ Drama Happened on ‘Watch What Happens Live’

What if I were to tell you that throughout this season of Winter House, the best drama among these sexy castmates was not actually during the Bravo series, but right after it? That’s right, all the best Winter House drama went down on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen and wow are we thankful it did.

What I loved most about Winter House were the non-stop party vibes. I, personally, needed a show like this in the Bravo lineup. Let’s see the dudes put on face makeup and build an igloo or play tug of water or try their hand (mouth?) at a beer bong. Yes, please! Let’s see the ladies get into the theme parties and dance on tables and gossip. Double yes, please! The lack of drama was an absolute positive in this case.

But this is Bravo. A lack of drama? Yeah, right. Instead of bringing the drama to Vermont and tapping into it like a sweet, sweet maple tree (hi Luke!), they brought the drama to Daddy Andy instead. Each week on Watch What Happens Live, as cast members cycled through so did the latest mini scandals. Austen Kroll aptly kicked it all off (in a turtleneck!) while semi-shading Lindsay Hubbard as she sat 10 feet away from him in the studio audience, and in true Austen fashion, kinda not even realizing he was doing it. Doh! She of course returned the favor a couple of weeks later when it was her turn to sit beside Andy along with an eventually shirtless Andrea Denver (take this time to add that to your thankful list this week).

But perhaps the best showing all season was Paige DeSorbo and Ciara Miller who showed up ready to spill the piping hot tea all over that WWHL studio. The two roommates made for perfect guests: they kept things light and fun, they weren’t afraid to get shady when necessary, and they were ready to dish. It felt as uncensored as it could get, maybe because they were just the right amount of tipsy or simply in an excellent mood to be there, and Andy was ready to gossip right along with them.

At first, I didn’t quite understand why cast members were also showing up to sit in the audience and support their friends, but it soon became clear how important that was. It made for some of the juiciest drama we got! It also highlighted how important for WWHL, more than almost any other late night show, that live studio audience is. We need the cheers and assorted reactions and the energy of those people ready to drink it all up. Plus, consider it proof that a virtual shotski just does not cut it.

Having these cast members on, and ones that ultimately have nothing to lose and no federal legal drama on their show (that we know of, yet, etc) was a reminder of the symbiotic relationship between the Bravo original series and its only late night show. These clips are able to be devoured on YouTube and social media and only add to the word of mouth and multiple conversations the viewers are ready to dive into. WWHL isn’t a commercial for Bravo programming, but an exclamation point (and hell, sometimes a question mark as well). This cast specifically brought the spiciness and added goss to WWHL to make it as must-see as their actual show. The late night show was a chance to keep the silly, salacious, party vibes going that Winter House has excelled at, making it not only a win-win for all, but also fun as hell to watch.
