Is ‘Silent Night’ on HBO Max or Netflix? How To Watch the Keira Knightley Movie

Who says horror movies are only for Halloween? Silent Night, a new horror-comedy from filmmaker Camille Griffin, is bringing a little spookiness to the holiday season this year.

Not to be confused with the other movie called Silent Night that came out this year—which is easier said than done, because that’s very confusing—this 2021 Silent Night stars Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Roman Griffin Davis, Annabelle Wallis, Lily-Rose Depp, Sope Dirisu, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Lucy Punch and Rufus Jones. The story follows an extended family who gathers for Christmas at a country estate—only to discover that the apocalypse is coming the very next day. Maybe the producers should change the name of this Silent Night to Silent Knight, given that this is the one with Keira Knightley in it? Get it? See what I did there? Nevermind.

Anyway, Silent Night is set to release both in theaters and streaming on AMC+, which is sure to confuse audiences further, because what the heck is AMC+? Never fear, because Decider is here to help. Read on to find out where to watch Silent Night, and how to stream Silent Night on AMC+

HOW TO WATCH SILENT NIGHT ON STREAMING:

If you live in North America, you will be able to stream Silent Night on exclusively AMC+ on Friday, December 3, which is the same day that Silent Night opens in theaters.

If you haven’t heard of AMC+, it’s a new subscription streaming service from the AMC channel, which features a library of original programming from AMC, BBC America, IFC, and SundanceTV, as well as access to streaming services Shudder, Sundance Now and IFC Films Unlimited. AMC+ recently launched in Canada on Apple TV Channels and Amazon Prime Video Channels and is currently available in the U.S. through AMCPlus.com, the AMC+ app, and a number of digital and cable partners.

You can subscribe to AMC+ for $9 a month/$60 a year.  for the standalone service, or for $7 a month if you sign up for an AMC+ add-on through TV providers like Sling TV, Dish Network, or Xfinity. AMC+ also offers a 7-day free trial in which you can cancel at any time, and still have access to the service for the remainder of your seven days.

IS SILENT NIGHT ON HBO MAX?

No. Silent Night is not a Warner Bros. film. While HBO Max—which is owned by Warner Media—has been simultaneously streaming Warner Bros. theatrical films like Dune and King Richard, it will not be streaming Silent Night. Instead, you can stream Silent Night on AMC+.

IS SILENT NIGHT ON NETFLIX?

No. Silent Night will not be streaming on Netflix, because it is streaming exclusively on AMC+. That said, there are plenty of other Christmas movies on Netflix—we’re sure you can find something to watch.
