Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint Reunite in First Look At ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’

We know you missed these magical best friends. The main trio of Harry Potter has returned in a sneak peek first look image for Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, which will debut on HBO Max in just a few short weeks. Can’t wait for the special? Neither can we. Luckily, HBO Max has introduced a little of what’s in store.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson are pictured sitting and laughing with one another in the image, probably remembering their glory days playing Harry, Ron, and Hermione in the hit Warner Bros. film series. But they’re not the only ones joining for the reunion. A handful of other esteemed cast members and filmmakers from all eight Harry Potter films will return to celebrate the anniversary of the franchise’s first film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.

The special will be “an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time,” per HBO Max.

Along with Radcliffe, Grint, and Watson, Harry Potter alumni joining the tribute include Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and more. One name that isn’t included in the special is the story’s original author, J.K. Rowling, who recently went under fire for a handful of transphobic statements made last summer. All three leads have since gone on to denounce her statements against the trans community.

Harry Potter 20^th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts is produced by Warner Bros. Unscripted Television. The special is executive produced by Casey Patterson and Pulse Films.
