After pitting sibling against sibling, Succession finally concluded its third season. And in case you forgot Logan Roy (Brian Cox) is the boss, “All the Bells Say” was there to smack some sense into you with an ending that was as stressful as it was shocking.

After that cliffhanger, we know that you’re hungry for more episodes. That’s why we’re here to help. Here’s everything we know so far about Succession Season 4 and when it’s coming to HBO.

Is Succession Season 4 Happening?

It certainly is. In October, HBO renewed the Jesse Armstrong black comedy for a fourth season. Considering how Season 3 ended, we need the episodes.

When Will Succession Season 4 Premiere?

It seems unlikely that we’ll see another delay like the two-year hiatus that happened between Seasons 2 and 3. Succession first premiered in fall of 2018. It was then followed by its second season a year later in 2019. When it Season 3 was first announced, filming was supposed to start in April of 2020 but was delayed due to COVID-19. This is all to say that, without global pandemics, it typically takes about a year to make a new season of this addicting show about greed and toxic families. Assuming there won’t be anymore delays, it seems likely that Succession Season 4 will premiere in late 2022.

How Did Succession Season 3 End?

With the betrayal to end them all. If you want a deeper dive into Season 3’s jaw-dropping ending, we have you covered. But if just want the quick and dirty spoilers, keep reading.

After three seasons spent fretting over who would take control of WayStar RoyCo, Kendall (Jermey Strong), Shiv (Sarah Snook), and Roman (Kieran Culkin) walked into “All the Bells Say” facing their biggest shock to date. Daddy Logan decided to sell the company to tech billionaire Lukas Matsson (Alexander Skarsgård). The siblings scrambled to make their play, finally agreeing to work together to prevent the sale of Waystar. Each of them agreed to take over a major corporate position as they pushed Logan out, but they forgot to include one major player. That mistake  would come back to haunt them.

As fast as they were, Logan was faster. He learned of his children’s plan and convinced his ex-wife to hand her shares over to him, effectively making Kendall, Shiv, and Roman’s blocking votes useless. Gruff as ever, he then told his kids to “make your own fucking pile” of money. Brutal, pops.

This changing of the tide marked two major betrayals. Remember that certain individual who wasn’t included in the children’s takeover? That person was Tom (Matthew Macfadyen). He finally got his revenge on his wife who uses him by selling her out to her own father. Speaking of lover’s spats, there was also Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron). In a moment of desperation, Roman all but begged Gerri to do something to prevent the sale of the company, but she refused, asking “How does it serve my interests?” There goes the healthiest relationship in this whole show.

Succession Season 4 will inevitably deal with the sale of Waystar as well as Kendall, Shiv, Roman, and Conner’s (Alan Ruck) respective existential crises as they try to deal with what happened. But don’t feel too bad for the Roy family. They still have stock in Waystar, which means this sale is likely only going to make them billionaires or at least millionaires in their own right. Not too shabby.
