Honey, I’m home! The beloved Lucille Ball will return to the screen this year in the Amazon Prime Video film Being The Ricardos, directed and written by Aaron Sorkin. Viewers everywhere will get to act as a fly on the wall in the home of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz as they rise to stardom.
Ball began her career back in the 1950’s as the lead actress in TV sitcom I Love Lucy, which starred Lucy herself as Lucy Ricardo, Desi Arnaz as Ricky Ricardo, Vivian Vance as Ethel Mertz, William Frawley as Fred Mertz and Mary Jane Croft as Betty Ramset. Being The Ricardos looks at the marriage behind I Love Lucy, depicting Ball and Arnaz in 1952 as they struggle to keep their show a success while simultaneously holding their marriage together.

WHAT TIME WILL BEING THE RICARDOS BE ON AMAZON?
Being The Ricardos premiered in theaters on December 10, 2021 but will not be available to stream on Amazon Prime Video until December 21, 2021. Prime Video subscriptions are available to purchase for $12.99/month or $6.49/month for current students.
WHO IS THE CAST OF BEING THE RICARDOS?
All of our favorite I Love Lucy characters are back, and there are some incredible actors taking on these iconic roles. For starters, Nicole Kidman will be playing lead lady Lucille Ball with Javier Bardem at her side as Desi Arnaz. Other cast members include J.K. Simmons as William Frawley, Nina Arianda as Vivian Vance, Tony Hale as Jess Oppenheimer and Alia Shawkat as Madelyn Pugh.
WILL BEING THE RICARDOS BE ON NETFLIX?
Sorry, folks, but Amazon has this one exclusively. Given that Being The Ricardos is an Amazon Studios film, it seems unlikely that it would ever find its way to Netflix. However, if you are looking for your Nicole Kidman fix, Netflix does have a long list of films starring the actress, including The Interpreter, The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, Cold Mountain and The Beguiled.
