2021 was a huge year for TV shows that feature the word yellow. Showtime’s intriguing mystery drama Yellowjackets? A critical hit! Paramount Network’s Yellowstone? A ratings bonanza! The Beatles 1968 animated musical comedy Yellow Submarine? Umm… well… it still exists (and earned Certified Fresh status on Rotten Tomatoes).
With the fourth season of Yellowstone officially in the books, we’re looking toward the future. Thanks to the show’s immense popularity, we already know that Yellowstone will return for a fifth season, but when exactly can we expect Season 5 of Yellowstone to premiere? Great question. Saddle up! Here’s when you can expect new episodes of Yellowstone to debut on Paramount Network.
HAS YELLOWSTONE BEEN RENEWED FOR SEASON 5?
Yellowstone’s Season 5 renewal hasn’t officially been announced, but considering the show’s massive success, a fifth season is a certainty (more on that below).
WILL THERE BE A YELLOWSTONE SEASON 5?
Yep. Deadline recently reported that a fifth season is scheduled to begin production in May of 2022, and back in March, Cole Hauser revealed that showrunner Taylor Sheridan was already working on the new season (h/t Town & Country).
WHEN WILL YELLOWSTONE SEASON 5 BE ON PARAMOUNT NETWORK?

No official Yellowstone Season 5 premiere date has been announced, but here are the previous release dates:
- Yellowstone Season 1: June 20, 2018
- Yellowstone Season 2: June 19, 2019
- Yellowstone Season 3: June 21, 2020
- Yellowstone Season 4: November 7, 2021
The first three seasons were easy to predict, but the global pandemic threw production schedules into a state of flux. With the new season beginning production in May of 2022, our best guess is that Season 5 will debut in the fall of 2022, but, obviously, that could change depending on the pandemic. We’ll update this story as new information becomes available.
WHAT SHOULD I WATCH TO FILL THAT YELLOWSTONE-SHAPED HOLE IN MY VIEWING SCHEDULE?
One word: Justified (which is now streaming on Hulu).
HOW TO WATCH YELLOWSTONE SEASON 4:
If you have a valid cable login, the fourth season of Yellowstone is available to stream on the Paramount Network website. Philo and fuboTV subscribers can also watch the fourth season of the series on demand. The complete series (and individual episodes) are also available to purchase on Amazon.
Finally, the first three seasons of Yellowstone are available to stream via Peacock Premium. Season 4 should eventually debut on the platform. The Season 3 finale of Yellowstone aired August 23, 2020 and all ten episodes of the season debuted November 22, 2020 on Peacock. While no official Peacock release date for Yellowstone Season 4 has been announced, we expect a similar timetable.
Our best guess? Expect Yellowstone Season 4 to premiere on Peacock in or around March of 2022.
