Crunchyroll Crashes Immediately After Premiere of ‘Attack on Titan:’ Season 4, Part 2

Is that a Titan in the distance, here to destroy us all? No, even worse, it’s the sound of the raging mob of people standing outside of Crunchyroll‘s HQ as they share their fury over the site’s crash today. It was already known amongst anime fans that Crunchyroll at times had difficulties with overloading servers leading to the entire site going down (’tis truly the one downside of offering such glorious content). These issues were only highlighted and exacerbated as fans of Attack on Titan flocked to the site known for providing top-notch anime shows, manga, news, and games as they tried to catch the premiere of AoT: Season 4, Part 2.

It’s the final season of the beloved series, and naturally, everyone wants to get in on it. Unfortunately, AoT‘s popularity, in addition to new episode premieres for other hit shows Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Boruto, caused more traffic than the site could bear, leaving bummed out viewers with the error message: “We are sorry. A team of shinobi is working to bring your anime back. Thank you for your patience.”

Fans took to Twitter immediately to commiserate over their frustration:

And while (at the time of writing this, at least) Crunchyroll servers are back up, the latest Attack on Titan episode still has not made its way to the site. If you don’t feel like waiting until Crunchyroll can get everything in order, we suggest trying the alternatives of Hulu and Funimation, both of which have Season 4: Episode 17 (entitled “Danzai,” which translates from Japanese to “Judgment”) up and ready to stream. Here’s hoping that by next Sunday, all three platforms drop the newest episode on time, and with no trouble!
