Clearly, there isn’t much this lovely lady can’t do, and we’re eager to celebrate all of the awesome stuff she has done and all that she’ll continue to achieve and create down the line. So, without further ado, give it up for this week’s WCW, the brilliant Bridget Everett!

WHO’S THAT GAL: Bridget Everett

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Everett stars as Sam in the HBO Original title Somebody Somewhere, which premiered on the platform this past Sunday, on January 16th. The comedy series revolves around Sam (Everett), who appears to be a true Kansan on the surface, but, in reality, struggles with fitting into the mold of her hometown. In the midst of dealing with loss and acceptance, she discovers a community of outsiders who are content in living life to their own rhythms, and in doing so, finds herself and a whole new sense of belonging. In addition to Everett, the series also stars Jeff Hiller, Mary Catherine Garrison, Danny McCarthy, and Mike Hagerty.

Somebody Somewhere has already received positive press (with particular praise for Everett’s performance) by publications like The New York TimesThe Hollywood Reporter, us here at Decider, and more, so make sure to do yourselves a favor by seeing what the well-deserved hype is about by watching this series as soon as it drops every week, only on HBO.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Everett’s professional onscreen debut was in 2008, when she appeared as Drunk Party Girl in romantic comedy-drama film Sex and the City. Just one year later, she made her TV debut performing a cabaret act on sketch comedy series Jeffery & Cole Casserole, before further bolstering her filmography with acting credits in an episode of CBS sitcom 2 Broke Girls and in romantic comedy-drama film Gayby, both in 2012. It was 2013 that saw Everett have her biggest break yet at the time, when she acted in breakout sketch comedy series Inside Amy Schumer, which she not only continued to appear in through 2016, but also contributed to as musical performer for original songs featured at the end of the show’s first three seasons.

From there, Everett continued to take on even more work on screens big and small, with one-episode guest appearances in shows like Difficult PeopleGirlsNo ActivityAnother PeriodBobcat Goldthwait’s Misfits & MonstersHistorical Roasts,  Living With Yourself, AJ and the Queen, and Bob’s Burgers, as well as roles in films like 2015 romantic-comedy Trainwreck, 2017 drama Patti Cake$, 2017 comedy Fun Mom Dinner,  2017 romantic comedy-drama Permission, 2017 supernatural horror-comedy Little Evil, 2020 romantic-comedy The Stand In, 2021 crime comedy-drama Breaking News in Yuba County, and 2021 animated sports-comedy Rumble.

HolidayWatch What Happens LiveWorst Cooks in America, and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. With all of the awesomeness achieved in just over a decade, we have no doubt that Everett will continued to put out even more incredible work for many years to come, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: If you’re hoping to see more of Everett in the near future, then you’re in luck, as the comedian is set to compete in the first episode of Would I Lie to You, the brand new American version of the popular British panel show that is premiering this year.

Beyond that, we’re not sure what’s next for Everett, but you can at least keep up with her in the meantime by following her on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and also by checking out her official website.
