Fans are taking to social media to remember Fight Club actor and rock musician Meat Loaf following news of the 74-year-old’s death. Many of them are doing so with a particularly iconic Fight Club quote: “His name is Robert Paulson.”

After getting his start on Broadway, Meat Loaf became a Grammy-winning musician known for his seminal 1977 rock album Bat Out of Hell. He also appeared in several movies and TV series throughout his career, including The Rocky Horror Picture Show and Wayne’s World.

However, one of Meat Loaf’s most memorable performances was his scene-stealing turn in David Fincher’s 1999 film Fight Club. He played Robert “Bob” Paulson, an ex-body builder who battles testicular cancer as a result of his past reliance on steroids.

After Meat Loaf’s death was announced, fans began paying tribute to the multi-hyphenate online by quoting the iconic chant that followed his Fight Club character’s death (“His name is Robert Paulson”) and became a popular catchphrase in the years following the film’s release.

“His name is Robert Paulson! What an incredible career,” one fan tweeted. “R.I.P. Meat Loaf!”

Another Twitter user wrote: “Rest in peace, Meat Loaf. What an absolute beast of a vocalist and a huge loss to music. His name is Robert Paulson.”
