‘The Simpsons’ Hilariously Predicted U.S. Government Using Tom Hanks To Defend Credibility

Fans of The Simpsons were eager to point out a parallel between the recent White House video narrated by Tom Hanks promoting the achievements of the Biden administration during its year one and a scene from the 2007 film The Simpsons Movie. The press team for President Joe Biden and VP Kamala Harris must all be going “Doh!” right now.

In the 2007 cartoon movie, Hanks appears to a bored family at the Grand Canyon in animated form saying, “Hello, I’m Tom Hanks. The US government has lost its credibility so it’s borrowing some of mine.”

Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz, of course, was among the partisan crowd who felt compelled to amplify this comparison.

“The Simpsons did it first!” Cruz chuckled in a tweet.
