It looks like we’re heading back to Kingstown, Michigan.

There was no shortage of news coming out of Paramount+’s TCA presentation, but one of the most noteworthy developments was the Mayor of Kingstown Season 2 renewal announcement.

Premiering in November of 2021, Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon’s crime thriller centers on Mike McLusky (Renner), the middle McLusky brother who takes over as “Mayor” after the death of his older brother. A former inmate in the Kingstown prison system, Mike acts as the liaison between prisoners and the community. Also starring Dianne Wiest, Taylor Handley, Tobi Bamtefa, Hugh Dillon, Emma Laird, and Derek Webster, Mayor of Kingstown is one of the many Taylor Sheridan programs (Yellowstone, 1883) to deliver an abundance of viewers. The show’s premiere, which was simulcast on Paramount+ and Paramount Network, garnered an impressive 2.6 million viewers before the series became exclusive to Paramount+.

Critics and fans seem to be split on the Jeremy Renner-led series. Mayor of Kingstown currently has a paltry 32% Tomatometer Score on Rotten Tomatoes, but the show has also managed an 88% Audience Score. Love it or hate it, the Paramount+ series is returning for a second season.

All ten Season 1 episodes of Mayor of Kingstown are available to stream on Paramount+.
