Legend has it that saying “rabbit” on the first day of any month will bring good luck, and today, Paramount+ has ensuring a fantastic February. Why? They’ve just announced the title for their upcoming project starring Kiefer Sutherland: Rabbit Hole.
Paramount+ announced the news at their Television Critics Association (TCA) panel today, ready to wow audiences with more news about the upcoming series. The show, which was previously announced as an untitled espionage drama series with Sutherland attached as the lead, will have an eight-episode season streaming exclusively on Paramount+.
Per Paramount+’s description, the series “finds private espionage operative James Weir (Sutherland) in the midst of a battle over the preservation of democracy in a world at odds with misinformation, behavioral manipulation, the surveillance state and the interests that control these extraordinary powers.”
Sounds intriguing, right? And with Sutherland’s Emmy-winning background on 24, the show is sure to be enthralling. He’ll also executive produce the show alongside writer-directors John Requa and Glenn Ficarra (This Is Us, WeCrashed), Charlie Gogolak (The Sinner, WeCrashed), Suzan Bymel (Designated Survivor) and Hunt Baldwin (Longmire, The Closer).
The project was announced in May of last year, when the Designated Survivor star was announced to be helming an untitled espionage drama series for the newly released streamer.
“I’ve been an admirer of John Requa and Glenn Ficarra’s unique body of work for some time, and I’m thrilled to be working on this exciting new project with them and Paramount Plus,” said Sutherland at the time. “Reuniting with David Nevins makes it all the more special. I can’t wait to see you all with this show in 2022.”
At the moment, further details like cast, production, and more are under wraps. Stay tuned for more updates like trailers, release dates, and first look images of Rabbit Hole coming soon.
