Where to Watch ‘Moonfall’: Is the Halle Berry Movie Streaming?

January can be a notoriously lackluster time for new movies, but don’t worry! Things are already looking up in terms of February 2022 releases. Case in point: Moonfall, a new sci-fi film with a delightfully bonkers premise and A-list cast members like Halle Berry and Patrick Wilson.

Directed by Roland Emmerich, Moonfall follows a NASA executive, a conspiracy theorist, and a former astronaut who embark on a quest to save Earth after an unlikely disaster sends the moon on a collision course with our planet. This movie has everything — aliens, action, and much more.

Ready to check out the dark side of the moon for yourself? Here’s everything to know about where to watch Moonfall and when to expect Moonfall on streaming.

WHERE TO WATCH MOONFALL:

Right now, the only way to watch Moonfall is in a movie theater when it opens in the U.S. on Friday, February 4. You can find a showing at a movie theater near you. After the movie’s theatrical run, you should be able to purchase Moonfall on digital platforms like Amazon, iTunes, Google Play, YouTube, and Vudu.

WHEN WILL MOONFALL BE STREAMING?

A digital release date for Moonfall has not yet been announced. However, we can guess that the film might be available to rent on premium-on-demand as early as late February. This is based on other recent Lionsgate releases like Spiral and Voyagers, which became available to rent on PVOD around three weeks after opening in theaters.

However, take this with a grain of salt. Lionsgate hasn’t followed a consistent template for releasing movies during the pandemic, and it’s possible that the studio may want to let Moonfall and other 2022 releases play in theaters for longer than three weeks.

WILL MOONFALL BE ON HBO MAX?

No, sorry. Moonfall is not a Warner Bros. movie, and therefore will not be streaming on HBO Max when it opens in theaters.

Plus, HBO Max will no longer be streaming theatrical movies simultaneously in 2022. Last year, Warner Media opted to simultaneously release its theatrical slate on streaming, allowing HBO Max subscribers to watch movies like Matrix Resurrections and Dune at home. This year, though, Warner Bros. theatrical movies will have a 45-day theaters-only run before heading to HBO Max.

IS MOONFALL ON NETFLIX?

Nope. Moonfall is not on Netflix and likely will not be on Netflix any time soon. If you want to see Berry and Wilson take on the moon ASAP, your best bet right now is to go see Moonfall in a movie theater.
