From 2013 to 2017, a foreign fraudster pretended to be a German heiress to scam money from banks, hotels and New York elites. But how did she do it? Based on Jessica Pressler’s 2018 New York article “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People” comes Inventing Anna, a comedy-drama series new on Netflix this weekend. This Shonda Rhimes-produced series stars Ozark’s Julia Garner as the titular Anna Delvey and follows her as she steals the hearts — and wallets — of New York’s high society only to lose it all in an entertaining fashion. Just in time for Valentine’s day is the ultimate breakup film: I Want You Back, new on Prime Video this weekend. One of the most anticipated movies of the year, this romantic comedy stars Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses), Jenny Slate (Obvious Child) as two heartbroken people who meet each other just as they have been broken up with by their respective significant others. The two devise a plan to help each other get their exes back by sabotaging their new relationships. You can guess where this goes, right?
