‘Teen Wolf’ Fans Blast Paramount+ Reunion Movie For Missing Cast Members: “Not Gonna Be Good Enough”

Beacon Hills is missing some familiar faces. On Tuesday, Paramount+ announced the full cast of Teen Wolf The Movie, the streamer’s upcoming sequel to MTV‘s Teen Wolf. While twelve series regular and recurring cast members are set to return (including star Tyler Posey), a few lead characters are noticeably absent — and fans aren’t having it.

Returning main cast members include Posey, Crystal Reed (whose character Allison died in Season 3), Holland Roden, Colton Haynes, and Shelley Hennig. Missing from that lineup are former series regulars Dylan O’Brien, Arden Cho,and Tyler Hoechlin.

O’Brien gave a breakout performance on Teen Wolf as sidekick best friend-turned-hero Stiles Stilinski. Meanwhile, Hoechlin played brooding werewolf Derek Hale and Cho portrayed Kira Yikumura, a high schooler who’s secretly a supernatural being known as a kitsune.

For a movie that’s being touted as a big Teen Wolf reunion, audiences were understandably upset that some of the show’s key players were absent. Plenty of fans soon took to Twitter to express their frustration.

“I am all in on Teen Wolf no matter what, but I really wanted the whole gang back together,” one viewer wrote.

Some Twitter users were particularly bothered by O’Brien’s absence.

“There’s really no point in making this movie when the most beloved character on the show isn’t even going to be in it,” another fan argued.

Things grew even more complicated when Deadline reported that Cho, the only central actress of color, allegedly decided to pass on the movie after being offered half the salary of her white counterparts.

“This is disgusting,” a viewer tweeted. “#TeenWolf didn’t deserve @arden_cho [then] and they definitely do not deserve her now. Unbelievable.”

While this Teen Wolf The Movie news hasn’t been met with the reception Paramount+ was certainly hoping for, don’t despair! The streamer said that additional cast names will be announced for the film down the line, and Deadline reported that Hoechlin could potentially return.

An official release date for Teen Wolf The Movie has not been announced yet.
