Will There Be a Season 2 of The Cuphead Show?

You bet you’re getting more episodes. In January of 2022, it was revealed that Netflix had commissioned this cartoon for 36 episodes. Those episodes are expected to drop in three separate batches, meaning we can expect a Season 2 as well as a Season 3.

When Will The Cuphead Show! Season 2 Premiere?

We know for sure that new episodes of The Cuphead Show! are coming. But when? That’s where things get a bit murkier.

Netflix first announced the cartoon in the summer of 2019. But fans didn’t get a first look at the series until a year later during the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. Based on this timeline, it takes roughly one to two years to create a new season of The Cuphead Show! We can likely expect new episodes in 2023 or 2024.

What Could Happen in The Cuphead Show! Season 2?

Are you prepared for some heart-stopping spoilers? They’re coming your way, pal.

Season 1 stared with Cuphead (Tru Valentino) losing his soul to the Devil (Luke Millington Drake) during a skee-ball game gone wrong. Most of the season followed Cuphead and Mugman (Frank T. Todaro) on their various adventures as they got into trouble and generally tried to avoid the Devil. Since this battle with hell’s landlord is still happening, there’s a chance that Season 2 may feature more standoffs and perhaps some actual battles. This new season may even follow the story of the original. There’s certainly room to show Cuphead and Mugman trying to repay the Devil by collecting souls on his behalf.

There’s also the Mrs. Chalice (Grey Griffin) of it all. Cuphead the game was supposed to releases its DLC, The Delicious Last Course, in 2019. That expansion included the introduction of a new playable character, Mrs. Chalice. But you know how video games go. There are delays, then global pandemics happen, and it becomes a whole mess. The Delicious Last Course is now set to launch on June 30, 2022. And since it’s the first time the game will see Mrs. Chalice, you can bet that her appearance in The Cuphead Show! is a big deal. Prepare to see more of this charming firecracker.
