On the heels of the real Elizabeth Holmes’ trial, Hulu is here with its own take on this stranger-than-fiction story. This week marks the premiere of The Dropout, the streaming service’s saga about the blood-testing company Theranos. And if you’ve been wondering how you can watch, we have you covered.

Around 2015, Elizabeth Holmes was the darling of Silicon Valley. Her blood testing company, Theranos, had been valued at $9 billion, and she had been named one of the youngest and wealthiest self-made female billionaires in America. Then it all came crashing down when it was revealed that Theranos’ blood testing machines never worked. Wondering how this insane story really happened? And more importantly, curious how you can watch new episodes? We have you covered.

How Many Episodes Are in The Dropout?

Altogether, there will be eight episodes in this miniseries from Elizabeth Meriwether (New Girl, Single Parents, Bless This Mess) and Michael Showalter (Wet Hot American Summer, Search Party, The Big Sick). And that’s probably going to be it. Based on its subject matter, this series will likely be a one and done deal. The Dropout tells the story of Theranos, and by the end of Season 1, that story has mostly been told.

When Do New Episodes of The Dropout Premiere?

This is where things get a bit complicated. Though there are only eight episodes in Hulu’s big drama, the streaming service will not be following a typical weekly release schedule. Here’s when you can expect new episodes:

  • Episode 1, “I’m in a Hurry”: Thursday, March 3
  • Episode 2, “Satori”: Thursday, March 3
  • Episode 3, “Green Juice”: Thursday, March 3
  • Episode 4, “Old White Men”: Thursday, March 10
  • Episode 5, “Flower of Life”: Thursday, March 17
  • Episode 6, “Iron Sisters”: Thursday, March 24
  • Episode 7, “Heroes”: Thursday, March 31
  • Episode 8, “Lizzy”: Thursday, April 7

Who’s in the Cast of The Dropout?

Amanda Seyfried, star of Les Miserables and Mama Mia!, will stand as Hulu’s Elizabeth Holmes. The founder and CEO of Theranos, Holmes was considered one of the greatest minds of Silicon Valley. At least, that was the case until it was discovered that her success was based on lies. Standing by her side is Naveen Andrews (Lost) as Holmes’ longtime boyfriend, Sunny Balwani.

That’s only the beginning of this star-studded cast. In addition to Seyfried and Andrews, The Dropout stars William H. Macy, Laurie Metcalf, Elizabeth Marvel, Stephen Fry, Alan Ruck, Sam Waterston, Micaela Watkins, and many other top-notch actors.

Is There a Trailer for The Dropout?

There certainly is. Check it out above. Just remember to brace yourself for Elizabeth Holmes’ deepened voice.

Is The Dropout Based on a True Story?

Yes, on two counts. Since The Dropout tells the story of Elizabeth Holmes’ rise and fall, it’s based on her real life as well as her real company, Theranos. But this Hulu original also draws for some more direct source material. The Dropout is based on the podcast of the same name by Rebecca Jarvis and ABC Audio. Both the podcast and the show tell roughly the same story. The show just tells this story from a fictionalized version of Holmes’ point of view while adding in some more of the color that was uncovered by John Carreyrou’s book, Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup, and many other articles about this case.
