Sarah Hyland, Jameela Jamil Add Their Voices To Peacock’s ‘Pitch Perfect’ Spin-Off

Adam Devine and Flula Borg are headed to Germany to film Peacock’s spin-off series of the Pitch Perfect film franchise, and now we know who’ll be singing along with them — or against them as the case may be. Peacock has announced the casting of Modern Family alum Sarah Hyland, The Good Place alum Jameela Jamil, and Lera Abova as series regulars. Production is set to begin soon in Berlin.

In the series, Devine, who played Bumper Allen in the films, tries to revive his own music career once one of his TikTok videos goes viral in Berlin. Borg reprises his Pitch Perfect 2 role as Piëter Krämer, who is no longer singing himself, but now managing. Bumper is his only client.

Will Bumper become as big in Germany as David Hasselhoff? Or at least become a star in his own right at the big German Unity Day concert?

Hyland will try to help the cause as Heidi, Piëter and Bumper’s American assistant. Although she also dreams of a singing-songwriting career, performing her own original songs at night in the Berlin cabarets.

Jamil will try to foil their plans as Gisela, Piëter’s ex-girlfriend, Bumper’s main rival, and an attention-grabbing new German pop star.

And then there’s Abova’s character, DJ Das Boot, aka Piëter’s sister.

Megan Amram, a writer/producer on Parks and Recreation and The Good Place, is showrunning the Pitch Perfect spin-off for Peacock. The film trilogy took in about $600 million globally at the box office.
