Nickelodeon has tapped two of its biggest stars to share hosting duties at the Kids Choice Awards 2022. iCarly actress Miranda Cosgrove and NFL star and former co-host of the Nick series Crashletes Rob Gronkowski will co-host the event that will air live from Barker Hangar at the Santa Monica Airport at 7:30PM ET on Saturday, April 9, with a delayed premiere on the West Coast. The ceremony will be carried live on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons and Nick Jr. The pair announced their roles as hosts in in a YouTube video earlier today.
In a statement, Cosgrove said, “Nickelodeon’s Kids’ Choice Awards has always been such a unique show with tons of energy, superstars and of course, lots of slime. Nickelodeon has always been my family and to co-host this iconic show alongside Gronk will be a blast.” Gronk added, “I’ve always been a kid at heart, so co-hosting the slimiest award show of the year will be an extraordinary time for me.” Judging from their chemistry in the announcement video, it looks like Gronk will definitely bring the goofy energy.
The show’s exhaustive award categories honor fan-favorite actors and actresses, as well as things like Favorite Family TV Show and Favorite Video Game. There are even categories honoring favorite male and female creators, where social media and TikTok stars like Addison Rae, Charli D’Amelio, Miranda Sings and Austin Creed are nominated. (You can check out the full list of nominees here.) Tune in on April 9 to see who wins, who loses, and who gets slimed.
