Ken Jennings Has Left ‘The Chase’, so Is Full-Time Hosting ‘Jeopardy!’ in His Future?

Jeopardy! fans reading the Twitter tea leaves this past week took note of two Tweets from the game-show’s GOAT, Ken Jennings. And now fans suspect, or at least hope, Jennings might finally take over full-time hosting duties for Jeopardy!

Yeah, yeah, Jennings has had competition to replace the late great Alex Trebek, with everyone from news anchors (Katie Couric, Anderson Cooper) to athletes (Aaron Rodgers) to the fantasy-casting of LeVar Burton jumping into the race since the moment Trebek announced his terminal cancer diagnosis.

And after the Mike Richards fiasco fizzled out, the quiz show finally settled for a two-fer to host the remainder of season 38, with Jennings handling most of the regular syndicated weeknight epsiodes, and Mayim Bialik presiding over primetime specials and the rest. Bialik said this week she’d love to host full-time, but added: “So, what I know is I’m hosting until May 6, and beyond that, hopefully, I’ll know more before May 6.”

But Jennings marked his 100th episode as host last Friday.

Then on Tuesday, we learned he’d split from his other Jeopardy! champions as panelists on a separate ABC quiz show, The Chase.

While his Chase co-panelist and Jeopardy! nemesis James Holzhauer got in his requisite zingers to announce Jennings’ departure from that show…

…Jennings may have the last laugh once more.

At least if his fans have any say in the matter.
